The main class of Saturday evening’s programme was the Audi Prize. Nine combinations stayed clear in the initial round to reach the jump-off of this 1.50m competition, including three combinations from Belgium.
So a Belgian winner would be a possibility. First to go in the jump-off was Holland’s Sander Geerink with the 11-year-old KWPN gelding Robinson (Rubert R x Odermus R) and he jumped a real nice and fast round in 36.46 seconds. The next six combinations were not able to beat Sander’s time until Jerome Guery entered the ring as the last but one to jump with his 14-year-old Zangersheide stallion Papillon Z (Perhaps v. Berkenbroeck x San Patrignano Cassini). He was able to accelerate a bit more and stopped the clock at 35.14 seconds and took over the lead. Third place went to Belgium’s Pieter Clemens with Loiza (Lord Pezi x Charmant) in 37.29 seconden.
