The roof was blown off in the MECC during Saturday’s main class. The second qualification for the Longines Trophy-Grand Prix of Maastricht, the Van Mossel Automotive Prize, was won by Holland’s Bianca Schoenmakers with her nine-year-old KWPN gelding Daylight. The 35-year-old rider had a super smooth and fast round with Daylight with his covering and fast gallop. They stopped the clock at 40.58. “I am so proud of my horse, he has been jumping so well this season!”, said a happy Bianca afterwards.

The prizemoney fort he second and third place stayed also in the Netherlands. Gert-Jan and Vampire (AES, Marome NW x Voltaire) were clear and crossed the finish line in 40.96 seconden and Eric van der Vleuten needed just a bit more time, 41.42, with Wunschkind 19 (Holst, Casall x Caletto I).

Best foreign combination was the young American Wilton Porter with Delinquent JX (SHBGB, Darco x I Need You).
