This edition of Jumping Indoor Maastricht finished with a very exciting final with the Longines Trophy – Grand Prix of Maastricht. The Belgian riders were very successful during the three days and so they were in the Grand Prix. Course designer Louis Konickx had built a fair but demanding course and eight combinations stayed clear in the first round: three Belgians, three Americans, a German and an Italian rider. No Dutch riders managed to reach the jump-off and the public kept its hopes up until the last rider Jeroen Dubbeldam with SFN Zenith N.O.P.

However, the crowd saw a thrilling jump-off! Italy’s Michael Cristofoletti had a great and fast round with Belony (HANN, Balou du Rouet x Raphael), but it was Nicola Philippaerts who demonstrated his supremacy with H&M Zilverstar T. He flew over the fences and stopped the clock at 36.58. This earned him the first prize of € 20.000 euros and beautiful Longines watch.

Third place was for the USA’s Wilton Porter with Caletto Cabana (HOLST, Cassini I x Capecanaveral). The 22-year-old has, together with his brother Lucas, trained with Jeroen Dubbeldam for the past seven months and has clearly borne fruit. Tomorrow they will leave again for the USA to prepare for the winter season in Florida.

It was again a great event with sportive highlights, great shows and entertainment. Next year Jumping Indoor Maastricht will be staged from 10 till 12 November. We hope to see you again!
