The FEI has assigned a World Cup qualification driving to Jumping Indoor Maastricht, which is held from 23 – 25 November 2018.

Limburg as driving paradise
Frank Kemperman, sports director of Jumping Indoor Maastricht, is very happy with the decision of the International Equestrian Federation. “I am very happy that we were able to get a World Cup competition for four-in-hand drivers in Maastricht. The Netherlands is the leading country in driving for many years and now we can watch the best drivers in our own country during this spectacular indoor competition. Thanks to the support of the Province of Limburg and the City of Maastricht this was made possible and it will make JIM even more interesting. The Province of Limburg can call itself a ‘driving paradise’ with the international driving competition in Peelbergen and the World Cup in the MECC.”

Enthousiastic
The Dutch top driver Koos de Ronde is also very enthousiastic. “Last year I gave a clinic during JIM and I was impressed with the facilities. I am happy that the Netherlands, as leading driving country, has its own World Cup qualification.”

Great addition
“The Dutch four-in-hand drivers belong to the world’s top and it is great to have a World Cup qualification again in the Netherlands,” says Maarten van der Heijden, technical director of the Dutch federation KNHS. “Driving is a great and spectacular sport to watch. During the outdoor season we have plenty of nice international events. We did not have an indoor World Cup for some years and it is a great addition that JIM is hosting the drivers this year.”
