Diederik van Silfhout, member of the Dutch dressage team that won European gold in Aachen this year, won the competition with the nine-year-old KWPN gelding Bonzanjo (Jazz x Contango). The KNHS Indoor Champions scored 73.480%, it was a personal best for the combination.
Germany’s Sönke Rothenberger, son of former internationals Sven Rothenberger and Gonnelien Gordijn, finished runner-up with Favourit, a 16-year-old Rheinland gelding by Fidermark. The duo received 72.500% from the judges.
Third place stayed in the Netherlands too: Patrick van der Meer and the 11-year-old KWPN gelding Zippo (Rousseau x Haarlem). They scored just a bit less than Sönke, 72.280%. Patrick was a member of the European golden team in Aachen. His top horse Uzzo was sold shortly after.
Tomorrow at 12.45 hrs all combinations will return in the arena for the Grand Prix Freestyle – Vian Prize.
