He was close the past few days, but on Sunday the USA’s Wilton Porter succeeded in winning a class. He was the fastest competitor in the MECC Prize, an accumulator with joker (1.40m), with his 11-year-old Westphalian mare Cula Lou V (Chacco Blue x Sandro): 44 – 37.72. His parents BP and Suzanne Porter own the Sleepy P Ranch LCC in Dallas, Texas, where Wilton and his brother Lucas learned to ride.
Bianca Schoenmakers, who won the qualifier with Daylight on Saturday evening, finished runner-up with the nine-year-old KWPN mare Dha Dha (Douglas x Roven XX). Third place went to Sweden’s top rider Rolf-Göran Bengtsson who had saddled his 11-year-old SWB mare Yajamila for this class.
