Last year Belgium’s top rider Olivier Philippaerts won the highlight of Jumping Indoor Maastricht, the Longines Trophy – Grand Prix of Maastricht. He was pleasantly surprised by his victory. “I was still recovering from a shoulder injury and it was H&M Legend of Love’s first big Grand Prix after a break of two months.”

Olivier, who was born just a few minutes later than his twin brother Nicola, is looking forward to return to Maastricht. “My brother won the Longines Trophy in 2016 and my father Ludo participated here many times. We have visited JIM since we were children.” He is hoping to bring H&M Legend of Love to Maastricht this year, but it all depends on her shape. “It is still a few weeks to go and we have to see how she feels. However, she has had a real good outdoor season.”

The rider from Gruitrode, where he runs a training and dealing facility together with his father and brothers Nicola, Thibault and Anthony, is hoping to qualify fort he World Cup Final in Gothenburg in 2019. He finished in a good fifth place in the Final in Paris this year. “I would like to have a successful performance in the country of my sponsor.”
