Recently Germany’s Laura Klaphake won the silver team medal at the World Equestrian Games in Tryon with Catch Me If You Can. It was her debut at a World Championship and she was very happy with this result.

The 24-year-old rider from Steinfeld was already sitting in the saddle before she could walk properly. No surprise because her family was actively involved in equestrian sport. Her father Joseph worked as a sales manager for Paul Schockemöhle, who is located just steps away from the Klaphake family. Soon she was included in the German pony team and won several medals. In 2011 she turned to horses and was very successful with the Young Riders: team gold and individual bronze at the EC in 2014.

Now she is one of the best riders in Germany. The charming and popular riders was the shooting star at the CHIO in Aachen. The German national coach included her in the A team for the European Championships in Gothenburg and WEG in Tryon.

Laura will participate in Maastricht for the second time. “I was impressed by the atmosphere and facilities last year and I really wanted to return to the MECC this year.”

Maybe is will be able to overturn the predominance of the men. It has been 15 years that a woman wonn the Grand Prix. In 2003 the USA’s Beezie Madden won with her legendary Authentic.
