Jumping Indoor Maastricht is very popular among the riders from home and abroad. The first entries are in and the list is looking very promising. They all guarantee competition on the highest level.

The Dutch jumping riders are very well represented. Of course the world’s number one, Harrie Smolders, will come to the MECC in Maastricht, but also top riders such as Jur Vrieling, Frank Schuttert, Jeroen Dubbeldam and Leopold van Asten will compete. The talented Limburg riders Lisa Nooren (JIM ambassador) and Sanne Thijssen are appointed by the national coach Rob Ehrens as U25 competitors.

Belgium is coming in full strength with Pieter Devos, Jos Verlooy and Nicola and Olivier Philippaerts. The Belgian riders perform well at JIM: Last year Olivier Philippaerts won the Longines Trophy-Grand Prix of Maastricht and his twin brother Nicola did the same the year before. The other two brothers Philippaerts, Anthony and Thibault, will compete in the CSI1*.

The Longines Trophy winner of 2015, Hans-Dieter Dreher from Germany, will give it another try and also the popular young talent Laura Klaphake, Meredith Michaels-Beerbaum, who won the Grand Prix of Maastricht in 1992 with Quick Star and her husband Markus Ehning, who won the Grand Prix in 1998.

Bertram Allen from Ierland and British top rider Scott Brash are both very popular and successful riders. Scott is the former world number one and Allen won the gold team medal at the European Championships in Gothenburg in 2017. Allen recently bought Nicola Philippaerts’s top horse Harley vd Bisschop.

The public can expect fireworks with this top competitor field.
