Jumping Indoor Maastricht offers for the first time competitions for both CSI1* and CSI4* combinations. There was a lot of interest for bot hand the organisation of JIM is very happy with the names on the definite masterlists.

CSI1*: a family affair
The entries in the CSI1* show a striking number of ‘daughters, sons, brothers and sisters of’ well-known riders. There is a young generation, especially from Limburg, that cannot wait to equal or improve the performances of their family members. Anthony Philippaerts from Belgium for instance, the youngest of the Philippaerts brothers. Thibault, Nicola and Olivier compete in the 4*. The Dutch contigent has, among others, Jasper and Niels Bulthuis, sons of Peter Bulthuis and Mans and Mel Thijssen whose father Leon won the Grand Prix of Maastricht in 2007 and 2010. Their sister Sanne Thijssen will start in the 4*.
The youngest competitor is Emma Bocken, daughter of farrier Paul Bocken who is involved with JIM since the first edition in 1988. Emma is only 13-years-old and switches from poniies to horses last year. According to her father she is very ambitious and has big plans for the future. “She is very enthusiastic about riding in Maastricht. It is a home competition for her so she will try her best.” Her horse Estera van de Vosberg is owned by a family friend. Last Emma started to ride Estera temporarily because of the owner’s pregnancy, but they had such a good click that the mare will stay under the saddle of Emma.

CSI4*: sport at the highest level
The CSI4* has a great line-up with big names such as Harrie Smolders, the number 1 of the world, Jos Verlooy, Scott Brash, Bertram Allen, Darragh Kenny, Jeroen Dubbeldam, Meredith Michaels-Beerbaum, Edwina Tops Alexander, Laura Hough, Leopold van Asten and Nicola and Olivier Philippaerts. In total 52 riders from 16 nations will compete.

The masterlists are published on our website.
