The second qualification fort he Longines Trophy – Grand Prix of Maastricht, the Van Mossel Prix, was won in a spectacular way by Holland’s Willem Greve with the 11-year-old mare Zypria S (Holst, Canturo x Lux Z). They were the fastest combination in the six-horse jump-off.

“I have tried to ride as tight as possible. I had the distances right and I needed one stride less towards the last fence. I don’t know if it was a wise decision to go full speed in this class as I will also ride Zypria S in the Longines Trophy tomorrow, but when it goes well you want to win,” said a happy Greve. He is riding Zypria for2,5 years. “She came to my stables through Joop Aaldering and Kyra Swelheim. She is a difficult and delicate horse. Sometimes I thought ‘what am I going to do with her’. But now, she is, together with Carambole, my first horse for the big classes. After her career she will be used for breeding.”

Belgium’s Jérôme Guery finished runner-up with the nine-year-old SCSL gelding Kel’Star du Vingt Ponts (Kannan x Landor S). The Dutch rider Kim Emmen, member of the Audi team, took third place with the 10-year-old KWPN stallion Delvaux (Chacco Blue x Lancer II).
