The second qualification fort he Longines Trophy â Grand Prix of Maastricht, the Van Mossel Prix, was won in a spectacular way by Hollandâs Willem Greve with the 11-year-old mare Zypria S (Holst, Canturo x Lux Z). They were the fastest combination in the six-horse jump-off.
âI have tried to ride as tight as possible. I had the distances right and I needed one stride less towards the last fence. I donât know if it was a wise decision to go full speed in this class as I will also ride Zypria S in the Longines Trophy tomorrow, but when it goes well you want to win,â said a happy Greve. He is riding Zypria for2,5 years. âShe came to my stables through Joop Aaldering and Kyra Swelheim. She is a difficult and delicate horse. Sometimes I thought âwhat am I going to do with herâ. But now, she is, together with Carambole, my first horse for the big classes. After her career she will be used for breeding.â
Belgiumâs JĂŠrĂ´me Guery finished runner-up with the nine-year-old SCSL gelding KelâStar du Vingt Ponts (Kannan x Landor S). The Dutch rider Kim Emmen, member of the Audi team, took third place with the 10-year-old KWPN stallion Delvaux (Chacco Blue x Lancer II).
