The 21-year-old Danish talent Emil Hallundbaek won the first 4* class, the Roelofsen Horsetrucks Prize (Two Phases, 1.40m), of Jumping Indoor Maastricht. Hallundbaek, who already competed at eight European Championships for ponies, Juniors and Young Riders, had the fastest clear round in 25.18 seconds with the eight-year-old mare Bel Star (SF). His mother Marianne Hallundbaeck has also ridden the mare for a while.
The margins in the top four were very small. Belgium’s Dominique Hendrickx stopped the clock at 25.24 with Carla, an 11-year-old Holstein mare (Casall x Coronado) followed by Dutch riders Doron Kuipers with Fabulous (KWPN, by Harley VDL) in 25.28 and Bart Bles with Gran Canyon van HD (BWP, Cartani x Nabab de Rêve) in 25.40.
