Great victory Mel Thijssen in Van Mossel Prize
With a mighty jump-off ride, 21-year-old Mel Thijssen managed to take victory in the Van Mossel Prize on Saturday evening. The Limburg rider flew over the obstacles with her 12-year-old mare Florida Balia NL (KWPN, Bustique x Lux Z) and managed to improve Marc Houtzager's time by just under 2 seconds. A super fast time in the jump-off of this qualifier for the Maastricht Grand Prix to be held tomorrow. Marc Houtzager eventually had to settle for second place with Holy Moley (KWPN, Verdi TN x Warrant). Third place went to Greek rider Ioli Mytilineou and her 11-year-old BWP stallion Levis de Muze (Elvis Ter Putte x Tinka's Boy). Frenchman Roger-Yves Bost, who had won a class earlier in the day, now finished in fourth place with Delph de Denat HDC (SF, Air Jordan x Tlaloc M). Fifth place went to Dutchman Kevin Jochems and the Holstein stallion Casillas van de Helle (Casall x San Patrignano Corrado).
