Jumping Indoor Maastricht 2024

This year Jumping Indoor Maastricht will be organised from 8 till 10 November. JIM offers top sport with, among others, the FEI Driving World Cup and the Grand Prix of Maastricht combined with the Limburg hospitality. An event for the whole family!

He was close the past few days, but on Sunday the USA’s Wilton Porter succeeded in winning a class. He was the fastest competitor in the MECC Prize, an accumulator with joker (1.40m), with his 11-year-old Westphalian mare Cula Lou V (Chacco Blue x Sandro): 44 – 37.72.

On Sunday morning, during the popular ‘Jimmy Morning’, the pony riders shaked up the public during the Euregion competition. Riders from the Netherlands, Belgium and Germany travelled to the MECC to take part in this exciting competition. In total 32 combinations were on the starting list and no less than 17 of them reached the jump-off.

The roof was blown off in the MECC during Saturday’s main class. The second qualification for the Longines Trophy-Grand Prix of Maastricht, the Van Mossel Automotive Prize, was won by Holland’s Bianca Schoenmakers with her nine-year-old KWPN gelding Daylight.

Brazilian Andre Reichmann had the fastest clear round in the speed and handiness competition (1.45m), the Limburg Prize. The 21-year-old stopped the clock at 60.54w with the eight-year-old KWPN mare Eastern Uno (Numero Uno x Glennridge). Reichmann is based near Brussels and his coached by Belgian rider Gregory Wathelet, who won the Grand Prix of Aachen this year.

Gerco Schröder, sixth to enter the arena, set a time that was so fast that none of the other remaining 30 riders was able to beat it. Top riders such as Ludger Beerbaum, Luciana Diniz, Jur Vrieling, Rolf-Göran Bengtsson and Jeroen Dubbeldam were biting the dust. Gerco rode the course of this 1.45m class against the clock in 55.79 seconds with his talented nine-year-old KWPN mare Glock’s Debalia (Numero Uno x Lupicor).

On Saturday afternoon German rider Carsten Lux won the Euregion competition, the Stal Hendrix Prize, with the nine-year-old mare Amigo LS (Zang, Asca Z x Almox Prints). The 39-year-old Lux from Gangelt was the fastest in 34.37 in the five-horse jump-off. Carsten, who is a blacksmith in daily life, bred and trained the mare himself.

The last and main competition on Friday was the VDL Groep Prize, a Table A, 1.50m, with jump-off and a qualification for the Longines Trophy-Grand Prix of Maastricht.

On Friday evening Wout-Jan van der Schans won the Roelofsen Horse Truck Prize, a top score with joker competition (1.40m), with Eloma’s Blue SFN (Mr. Blue x Tygo). The Dutch champion of 1985 and 1987 scored 1460 points in 64.76 seconds with the eight-year-old KWPN stallion.

The opening class of Jumping Indoor Maastricht, De Limburger Prize, had an all-Dutch top three.

Jumping Indoor Maastricht (10 - 12 November) offers a extensive and varied programme with several disciplines for young and old. The main part of the programme is the international and euregional jumping competitions.

Jumping Indoor Maastricht has, despite its name, always given dressage a stage in the MECC. For years a dressage matinee was successfully organised and this year JIM will re-introduce this popular feature. The public can again enjoy special clinics and demonstrations on Saturday morning (11 November), start 10 am. A mix of well-known top riders will present an attractive programme. A programme not to be missed by any dressage fan!
